Well - not exactly what they forecast rain-wise, but the wind was certainly not lacking ;) . I sat in the car park for an hour waiting for the rain to lighten up a little & for others to appear - as they surely would?

In due course, they did & 4.0-4.5m seemed to be popular sizes. So out with 4.2m on the 78l JP. First day of the year & using my smallest board - could this be a sign of things to come?

Wind was anything but consistent, blowing anything from F4-8, SW, veering W later in the afternoon. Sailed mainly around low water & just after. Small waves on the inside, but HUGE swells a little further out resulted in my highest jumps ever & a semi-involuntary forward loop-cum-submarine ;-) . All this on starboard tack, too - not my best side.

Eventually, my tennis elbow problem reared its ugly head making the conditions just too painful.
